Software I use, gadgets I love, and other things I recommend.

You didn't ask, therefore I must share. I think that's how this works.

Workstation

  • 13” MacBook Pro, M1, 16GB RAM (2020)

I was using an Intel-based 16” MacBook Pro prior to this and the difference is night and day.

  • iPad Pro

I don't know the specific model, I just like having infinite paper.

Development tools

  • VS Code

I'm a huge fan of VIM and editing code directly in the terminal, but I'm not an expert at getting my VIM configures just right. VS Code is the perfect balance of power and simplicity for me; plus, I have the VIM keybinding extension enabled.

  • iTerm2

I installed this because it looked prettier than the native terminal. I don't even know what it does to be honest. I just like the way it looks. I tmux everytime I open this app, even though it's not necessary.

  • CoPilot

Don't think, just use it. Seriously.

Productivity

  • Notion

Just go download it and watch your life improve, almost instantaneously.

  • ExpressVPN

Well, I'm not sure if this is a productivity tool, but I'm putting it here.

  • MathPix

Writing math on paper, or iPad (get you a Paperlike), then being able to screenshot my math and get the LaTeX code at about 80%+ accuracy is a game changer.

  • Speechify

I'm a slow reader, so I use Speechify to read my text to me while I follow along.

  • Cinch

I use this to keep my windows organized. One of MacOS's downfalls is it doesn't support window snapping. Cinch fixes that.

  • Calendly

I'm learning to become a better manager of my time, and Calendly is helping me do that.

  • Zoom

I use this to talk to people.
